Sherman Dolman was born in Vervan, Germany on September 4, 1863. He moved to the Lincoln, Nebraska area in 1869, when he was six years old. He talks about his life growing up an leading up to the Great Depression. He describes the Indians as scary and the way they dressed was frightening as well. Once the Depression hit, he says then lived on sorgum and corn meal and they wore clothes sent from the east and went barefooted most of the time. Roe Remmington was a white female from South Carolina. She was a housewife that rented out apartments to make money. she was interviewed on March 7,1939. The interview ended a few years later (there were constant stops in between). The interviewer was Murial A. Mann. The interview described her and her family and what they had to do to survive through the Great Depression. When the depression hit, they had to sell the house and rent an apartment.
